29 05 08 Since we've been gone the family has suffered a long spell of poor health. First of all Martha fell out of the front door clunking her head and producing some bruise, which was fairly upsetting for all concerned, then she cut her nose on the road. Then we all got ill for weeks, colds, sore throats, and (ahem) foot and mouth disease, culminating in the unfortunate cancellation of Martha's 1st birthday party due to gastro enteritis. We still had a nice day, with Grandma, Kath and Helen and Maya braving the sickness. We got better shortly after as well. Martha still isn't sleeping particularly well, not sleeping through at night, and not much of a rhythm to the naps during the day, it makes us all tired. In May the weather went nice so we went to Ullswater in the Lakes. We went on a boat, up a hill and had another accident in a cafe, a little cut above the eye. Martha is pretty good on her feet, just a little over confident sometimes! Martha's wee naming ceremony was on the 25th May, which was a fine event. It was a beautiful sunny day and also very windy, we had lots of lovely family up and hardly any arguments.
