06.05.07, about lunchtime

Martha Joy Kidd was born at home at 5am, 05.05.07 - a numerically sound time I'm sure you'll agree, especially as labour started at 5pm the previous day more or less. The labour was... laborious, an experience that can't easily be turned into words, so it won't! Suffice to say Clare pushed mightily for what seemed like a lifetime, and was then required to push some more, and suddenly a beautiful little crinkly girl (a little reluctantly) popped out. Clare is very sore and tired - napping upstairs now while I write this with our little squirmy pearl in a moses basket beside me, making funny chirruping noises and waving her little arms around.
